Massachusetts grants worth applying for in 2026.

A current list of state and regional programs that actually pay out — with realistic timelines so you know what you're signing up for before you start an application.

The Massachusetts State House golden dome at dusk, evoking civic funding and public programs.

Grants are real money, but they're rarely fast money. The biggest mistake we see at WBI is founders applying to one big program with a long timeline and then waiting six months in limbo. The fix: stack a fast-turnaround grant (4–8 weeks) on top of a longer-cycle one, so something is always moving.

Below are seven programs we routinely point Central MA founders toward. Always confirm details on the agency's site before applying — eligibility windows and award sizes change year to year.

How to actually win one.

The strongest applications we see all do the same three things: they tell a sharp story about why the project exists, they tie every dollar requested to a specific outcome, and they include letters of support from local partners. If you can't easily get a letter from your city or chamber, that's a signal to build those relationships before you apply, not after.
